Melissa Bailey was born and raised in New Hampshire’s beautiful Upper Valley. With family roots in the Granite State dating back at least five generations, Melissa grew up surrounded by the values of family, faith, and community. A graduate of Lebanon High School, she went on to Wake Forest University, earning degrees in Finance (undergraduate) and Accounting (graduate).
“My grandmother was one of fourteen children, and my grandfather was one of five, so we had family all around us. That’s why family, faith, and community are so important to me.”
Before stepping away to raise her children, Melissa built a successful career in the private sector, spending more than a decade in banking, accounting, and auditing at some of our nation’s leading financial institutions. Careers took Melissa and her husband, Ryan, across the country, but New Hampshire was always home. They made the decision to return to continue raising their family here.
“I’m grateful every day to be back in the place that shaped who I am. Because I’ve seen life in other parts of our country, I have a unique perspective on what makes New Hampshire truly special — our values, our people, and our way of life”.
Melissa and Ryan now live in Bedford with their three children, who are active in local schools and athletics. Melissa has always had a heart for service. She has served as treasurer on a variety of nonprofit boards — including her church, youth football, and the PTA — and today serves as Vice Chair of the Bedford Republican Committee. She also homeschooled her children for five years and has dedicated countless hours volunteering in classrooms, libraries, and community events.
A lifelong athlete, Melissa played soccer and ran track in high school—and she continues to run today. Over the years, she’s competed in numerous races, including full marathons. Health and fitness are a core part of her family’s lifestyle, and they love spending time together in New Hampshire’s beautiful outdoors.
While raising her children, Melissa has seen firsthand how policies out of Washington are increasingly out of touch with New Hampshire values. The open border and “defund the police” movement under Joe Biden have made communities less safe. Government overreach during COVID and beyond put bureaucrats ahead of parents and children. And Washington’s massive overspending threatens the very future of our country.
“I know what its like to juggle work and family. I know what its like to wonder what kind of America our children will inherit if we don’t act now. I’m running to make sure we have a country worth passing on”.
Melissa is a patriot who believes deeply in the goodness and strength of America — and in teaching those values to the next generation. She believes that America First means Families First. As a mom, she is fighting to protect the future for her children and for all New Hampshire families: a future where families are strong, communities are safe, and opportunity is abundant.
“My name is Melissa Bailey and I’m running for Congress to protect our children, defend our freedoms, and restore common sense to Washington”.
